Choosing a Tai Chi class is an important decision. Every teacher has their own approach, and not every class is the right fit for everyone.

Our Approach

At Movement In Mind, we believe Tai Chi is much more than gentle exercise.

It is a mindful movement practice that helps develop balance, coordination, body awareness, relaxation and confidence. Many people also find that regular practice supports their physical and emotional wellbeing.

Our teaching is welcoming, supportive and adapted where needed. Many of our members live with long-term health conditions, reduced mobility or chronic pain, while others simply enjoy learning Tai Chi as a lifelong skill.

Whatever brings you here, you’ll be encouraged to work at your own pace in a friendly and non-competitive environment.

Before You Begin your Tai Chi journey

We’d like everyone joining our beginners course to understand what learning Tai Chi involves.

Tai Chi isn’t a quick fix or a one-off experience. Like learning a musical instrument or a new language, it develops through regular practice over time.

  • You don’t need to be fit or flexible.
  • You don’t need any previous experience.
  • What you do need is curiosity, patience and an interest in learning.

If that sounds like you, we’d love to welcome you.
