How Booking Works

We’ve designed our booking system to support regular practice, flexibility and a welcoming learning environment.

Rather than offering pay-as-you-go classes, we offer Introductory Courses, Wellness Membership and Online Studio Membership. This helps us build a supportive community where people can develop their practice over time.

If you’re new to Movement In Mind

Everyone begins with our six-week Introductory Course – Learn Tai Chi.

The course provides a structured introduction to Tai Chi, with each week building on the previous one. Alongside the weekly class, you’ll have access to practice videos to support your learning between sessions or help you catch up if you need to miss the occasional class.

Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll have the opportunity to continue through Wellness Membership.

Wellness Membership

As a Wellness Member, your membership continues throughout the year (monthly or annually).

At the beginning of each term, we’ll invite you to choose the class you’d like to attend regularly.

This helps us to:

  • maintain comfortable class sizes
  • support people progressing from the Introductory Course
  • give existing members the opportunity to change classes if another session suits them better
  • ensure everyone has a regular place to learn and develop

Your regular class becomes your “home” class.

Can I attend other sessions?

Yes. One of the benefits of Wellness Membership is that you’re not limited to your regular class.

You’re welcome to attend additional in-person sessions (subject to availability), join our live online practice sessions and use the Members’ video library whenever you wish.

Many members enjoy having a regular weekly class while also making use of the additional opportunities to practise.

What if I miss a session?

We understand that holidays, appointments and family commitments are sometimes unavoidable.

Because your place is reserved for you throughout the term, payments aren’t adjusted for missed sessions.

To help you stay on track, introductory courses include practice videos, and Wellness Members have access to our full online video library as part of their membership.

Why don’t you offer pay-as-you-go?

Tai Chi is a practice that develops over time.

Regular attendance allows you to build confidence, develop your skills and enjoy learning alongside a familiar group of people.

Our booking system reflects this philosophy while still giving members the flexibility to attend additional sessions across the programme.
